The themes for this year's World Suicide Prevention Day–Creating Hope Through Action–and World Mental Health Day–Celebrating the Power of Community Kindness–perfectly embody TELL’s mission and journey over the last 50 years as together we fight to ensure that everyone makes it through to the next day. Sadly, last year saw an increase in the number of lives lost to suicide to 21,881.
We know that many of us are struggling with mental health challenges. This fall our Step Up Challenge and Tower Tower Climb have never been more relevant.
Once again we are asking the community to join our month-long campaign to create hope for others through our actions. As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, we would love to see 5,000 people taking part in these events and showing the power of the community.
You have two ways you can participate.
You can join our Step Up Challenge anytime and from anywhere from September 10th - October 10th, either as an individual or team, as a school, community, or business and take 21,881 steps (or 21,881 of anything, be creative!). On October 14th we will hold our 5th Tokyo Tower Climb. We invite you to join us for a morning of fun at this iconic landmark and help create awareness about mental health needs in Japan.
Start speaking with your friends, family, colleagues, and teammates, save the dates, and help spread the word to as many people as possible. Start a fundraiser on DonorBox (click here for the tutorial)! We can’t wait to see you there and together create hope with our actions.
Use #TokyoTowerClimb2023, #TTC2023, and #STEPUP2023 on Instagram, Meta, Twitter, and LinkedIn to share your mental health walk with the TELL SNS community!
